Event Description: Join the South Florida Banking Institute for an in-depth exploration of today’s most pressing cybersecurity challenges. This year’s program highlights the rise of Generative AI threats, the use of AI for defense, fraud detection, and decision intelligence, and the evolving landscape of regulatory and ethical considerations. We will cover the latest in data privacy risks and best practices for secure AI adoption.

Mike Sanchez has over 20+ years of experience developing and implementing best-in-class risk management and security solutions for organizations in major industries, like Financial Services and Education. Prior to joining the team in 2016, Mike served as President and COO for a Visa subsidiary where he led global cybersecurity initiatives for Commercial and Federal markets. He holds a Juris Doctor and BA of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Miami, and is a retired Captain of the US Marine Corps.   .

Ryan Alonso

Ryan Alonso is the Senior Vice President and Information Security Officer at U.S. Century Bank, where he leads the institution’s cybersecurity and information security programs with strategic oversight and operational precision. With over a decade of experience spanning IT governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management, Ryan has built a reputation for implementing robust security frameworks and fostering a culture of vigilance and resilience.

Prior to his current role, Ryan served as Information Security Officer and Network Administrator at Terrabank, N.A., where he designed and executed cybersecurity programs aligned with FFIEC, GLBA and NIST 800-53 frameworks, conducted vulnerability assessments, and managed enterprise-wide security operations.

Earl Matthew

Chief Information Security Officer, Intercredit Bank

Earl Matthew is a proven cybersecurity leader with more than 10 years of experience shaping security strategies in highly regulated industries like finance and healthcare. In his current role as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Banco Pichincha Miami Agency, vCISO at Intercredit Bank, and vCISO at Pinvest Capital he has spearheaded strategic initiatives that enhance the institutions programs to mitigate modern threats.

Earl is adept at bridging the gap between technical teams and executive leadership. His expertise spans GRC, risk management, security architecture, and incident response. He holds a Master of Science in Management Information Systems with a specialty in Information Security Management, along with the CISSP and CRISC certifications.

Emilio J. Del Riego

U.S. CISO/VP Information Security, Televisa Univision, Inc.

Dr. Emilio Del Riego is a seasoned leader in all areas of Information Security, Cyber Security, Data Privacy, Information Technology and Bank operations. Dr. Del Riego has over 30 years of strategic and technical leadership expertise as a CIO, CISO, and COO in the financial services and other industries. Throughout his career Dr. Del Riego has served in a senior leadership capacity for large and global financial institutions, non-profit organizations, and global staffing companies. 

Dr. Del Riego currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President of Information Security for the US region of TelevisaUnivision responsible for cybersecurity for all the US operations. Joining TelevisaUnivision in 2024. Prior to TelevisaUnivision Dr. Del Riego served in various senior leadership capacities as CIO, COO and CISO for over 30 years in several global financial institutions including ABN Amro Bank, Brickell Bank and Banque Sudameris. In addition, in 2014 Dr. Del Riego brought his leadership expertise to the non-profit arena as the CIO & CISO for the American Welding Society a global organization with over 70,000 members. In 2017, Dr. Del Riego co-founded E2E Consulting Group, LLC providing executive level expertise to Financial Institutions. 

Dr. Del Riego holds doctoral degree in Innovation and Leadership from St. Thomas University. In addition, Dr. Del Riego sits the Miami Dade College Cybersecurity advisory committee.

Spencer Wilcox

Executive Director of Cybersecurity, NextEra Energy, Inc.

Spencer is an utility industry veteran with a background both sworn and civilian in law enforcement. He has deep senior leadership experience in the strategic delivery of technology, cyber and physical security services, and actively engages in setting security and policy direction for industry working with the industry’s Cyber Mutual Assistance Program, and Edison Electric Institute’s Security Technology and Policy Executive Advisory Committee. 

Spencer holds certifications in cybersecurity, IT audit, and physical security. Spencer enjoys working with early-stage cybersecurity companies to develop product and sales strategies to improve the viability of technologies required to secure the critical infrastructure and its customers, and serves as a CISO advisor for Syn Ventures and ForgePoint Capital.
