Frank Gonzalez is a principal in Kaufman Rossin’s assurance services practice. He has over 30 years of experience in providing extensive services to organizations in various industries including banking, international banking, investment funds/broker-dealers, financial services and technology.

Frank specializes in audit engagements and providing business advisory and regulatory compliance services to national and international public (SEC), and privately held companies. He is experienced in initial and secondary public offerings, capital formation and mergers and acquisitions. He helps clients accomplish their financial and operational objectives. Frank has testified as an expert witness on numerous cases regarding construction liability, lost profit matters, lender liability, professional malpractice, and fraud.

Frank currently serves as upcoming Chair/President of United Way –Miami Dade, Immediate Past Chair/President of the Orange Bowl Committee, and a Director Member of Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA). He is also a board member of SebastianStrong, a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase awareness of childhood cancer and raise money to fund research for less toxic, more targeted childhood cancer cures.

He is a licensed CPA in Florida, Illinois, Kansas and New York. He earned his master’s in business administration with a concentration in finance and accounting from University of Miami, and a bachelor’s in accounting from Florida International University.

Kenneth Schoeni 

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer of Banesco USA, a leading regional bank with operations in South Florida and Puerto Rico, Kenneth Schoeni is responsible for directing the growing bank’s overall finance, accounting, treasury, and strategy functions. Additionally, Mr. Schoeni serves on the board of the South Florida Bankers Institute (SFBI).

Mr. Schoeni led the bank’s application process for the U.S. Treasury Department’s Emergency Capital Investment Program (ECIP) to support the growth of minority-owned businesses, small businesses, and borrowers located in underserved or minority communities. Banesco was the only bank in Florida and Puerto Rico selected to participate, securing $250 million in ECIP capital. Under this program, the bank has already facilitated $1.5 billion in ECIP-qualified loans as of June 2024.

Born in Minneapolis and raised in Cincinnati, Mr. Schoeni has nearly 15 years of experience managing finance, accounting, treasury, strategy, risk, information security, BSA analytics, and corporate development. Prior to joining Banesco in 2012, he worked in investment banking at Lazard Middle Market and Sandler O’Neill.

A former professional athlete, Mr. Schoeni spent three years with Major League Soccer playing for teams such as the Columbus Crew and Chivas USA, and one season with Miami FC of the United Soccer Leagues. When he is not spending family time with his wife and two daughters, he enjoys playing on the men’s league soccer team Atletico Caribe.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and philosophy from Vanderbilt University.

Vanessa Lugo Anseume

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Vanessa Lugo Anseume was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2024. Ms. Lugo oversees the Bank's financial functions, including general accounting, treasury, financial reporting, financial analysis, corporate taxes, internal controls, and budgeting & forecasting.

Ms. Lugo joined Ocean Bank in 2015 as Chief Accounting Officer and was promoted to Operating CFO two years later. She began her professional career in Financial Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers Caracas, Venezuela and was transferred in 2010 to PricewaterhouseCoopers Miami office as a Financial Service Manager.

With over 15 years of extensive experience in banking, financial services, and business leadership Vanessa is a seasoned professional in her field. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the South Florida Banking Institute and Audit Committee of United Way Miami.

Born in Caracas, Ms. Lugo moved to Miami in 2010 after receiving her master’s in business administration and public accounting from Andres Bello University. She holds a Certified Public Accountant license from both the Venezuela Federation and the Virginia Board of Accountancy.


Fabricio Macastropa

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Fabricio Macastropa is the Executive Vice-President and CFO of Sunstate Bank and serves on its board of Directors. He’s also Manager Director of Sunstate Wealth Management and Director of Sunstate BancShares Inc.

Fabricio Macastropa joined Sunstate Bank in 2006 to oversee the bank and customers’ investments securities portfolio and IT operations.  Before joining Sunstate Bank, Fabricio Macastropa worked for Banco Sofisa in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He oversaw the Private Banking Backoffice operations.

Fabricio Macastropa graduated in Business Administration from University of Sao Paulo in 2002. He earned his MBA in Marketing in 2005 and his Master in Finance focusing on Investment portfolio diversification from University of Sao Paulo in 2006. Fabricio Macastropa graduated from the Florida School of Banking in 2015 and completed the course of Competing in the Age of Digital Platforms from Harvard Business School in 2023.

Juan Avila

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Intercredit Bank

Juan Avila is the Chief Financial Officer of Intercredit Bank with over 20 years of experience in the fields of accounting, finance, investments, strategic and business planning. Juan holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Finance, both from Florida International University.

Throughout his career, Juan has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in managing financial operations, driving strategic initiatives and developing revenue growth opportunities. Juan has a proven track record of aligning divisional goals with overall organizational strategies, ensuring efficient financial management and administration.

In his current role as Chief Financial Officer of Intercredit Bank, Juan is responsible for overseeing and managing the bank’s financial and liquidity positions, enhancing the performance of the investment portfolio, overseeing strategic moves in both loan and deposit portfolios, and alignment to the goals and objectives of the strategic plan.

Juan has successfully led various projects, including the development of new business models, development and enhancement of multi-layered relationships, and the transformation of financial planning and monitoring processes.

Juan’s extensive experience and educational background have equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate complex financial landscapes and contribute to the growth and success of Intercredit Bank.
